Views are what make this particular part of the Park so favored. The best lookout points are Yaki Point, Mather Point, Hopi Point and Yavapai Point. Mather\’s the most renowned (and the most frantic), and justly so as it let\’s you walk on top of an outcropping into the canyon\’s abyss. Check out Hopi Point if you have some time, and by all means take a quick amble on the Edge Top Trail, also known as the Walk of Time.
Souvenir purchasers will have a field day at the South Edge. The best gift shops are at the Hamlet, with the shop within the Bright Angel Lodge being the absolute best. Others getting an honorable mention include Kolb Studio and Verkamp\’s. For real Indian handicrafts, look no further than the Hopi House.
