If you\’re like the majority of people out there, no doubt you\’ve tried a number of diets to different degrees of success. You could have lost weight but you usually get to a certain point and then nothing you do can help you lose more fat. This plateau that most people hit, is usual with virtually all diet plans. It\’s not possible to avoid the plateau problem if you don\’t figure out how to deceive your metabolism.

You\’ve probably already experienced the plateau problem which will probably have caused you a great deal of disappointment and ended more than one diet regime. The plateau is a strange occurrence and it happens to even the best dieters when they arrive at the third or fourth week of their fat loss programs. Right up until that point the weight seems to come off with no difficulties and then it just ceases and nothing really works to help the body lose more fat. It\’s your body reacting to the changes you are putting it through. Your body goes into protection mode to stop starvation, so it slows your metabolic rate. What this ultimately ends up doing is keeping your body from shedding any more weight.

This is why people stop trying to shed weight because, this plateau keeps them from believing that doing so is possible. This is just what causes most people to start eating again and they often gain back more weight than they lost in the first place.

The way to stop this is by using a diet where you move calories. What you want to do is eat a different number of calories daily, which theoretically helps you fool your metabolism. When this works, it keeps your body from turning the switch and entering protective mode. This will keep your body\’s metabolism working, rather than slowing down, and your body continues to shed weight. If you get to this point, you have passed your plateau and your diet will continue working the way it was designed to work.

It\’s not tough to work this plan into your daily routine. One of the more popular calorie shifting methods is the 14 day method. In this method, you adhere to your diet for eleven days and then on the 12, 13 and 14th days you eat the things you truly want to eat. You can switch your foods during the day and trick your metabolism and then for three days eat what you would like to eat and prevent the plateau. This could also help you from getting frustrated with a stringent diet plan. You can continue repeating these 14 days until you really feel satisfied with the amount of weight you have dropped.

Another popular program is the 2 day plan in which you eat regularly one day and the next cut your calories by between twenty and thirty five percent. You can keep doing this every two days for as long as necessary to get your weight off. This is a program that ought to get your attention because it could be just what you need to pass your plateau and lose all of the weight you would like to lose.
