If you have never tasted pasture-raised, grass-fed beef, then you're in for a real treat. Bite into an Estancia burger or steak and you can taste the terroir, the grasslands where our animals are raised, the fruitful earth and year-round rainfall. Just like with wine, olive oil, and honey, the food our animals eat and the land where they wander comes out in the flavor of their protein.

Grass-fed ground beef has a complicated, beefy flavor, without any of the mouth-coating, buttery remnant that grain-fed meat often leaves behind. Our beef has been described as tasting \”bright\” and \”beefy\” and \”real\” but you are feeling light after you are done eating, as if you'd eaten fish. Feedlot meat leaves you feeling oily and stuffed. Estancia meat finishes clean on your palate and does not weigh you down.

Imagine clean cows grazing unending pastures of bright green grass, their bodies lately washed by a soft rain shower. The Herefords are bright white and tawny brown, the Angus gleaming black. Imagine meat that is healthy for you to eat as it comes from healthy animals raised on grass, the diet they developed over millenia to consume.

Our grass-fed meat has about 1/2 the cholesterol and fat of grain-fed beef, with health benefits similar to the ones that come from eating salmon. Imagine a burger that is as good for you as a fish dinner. Imagine healthy beef.

Green grass and no feedlots! We are serious about the welfare of our animals. Each has access to more than two acres of green grass for most of its life and none of our animals ever sees a feedlot. Healthy, non-stressed animals make for healthy protein that you can feel good about eating. We like to claim that our animals only have one bad day.

Grass-fed, pasture-raised meat means a smaller carbon footprint, no density of waste in a little area (a hallmark of all feedlot operations), and no contamination (waste, antibiotics and/or growth hormones) from run-off into the local water system.

Ian Ben just started Paleo food online website, with numerous engaging categories like grass-fed meat.
