There are three common types of goat skin leather. Here is a detailed list of these three forms.

1. Full-grain goat skin leather: This represents the finest quality goat leather as it comes in its best natural state. To maintain its originality, the natural grains are preserved and only the hair is removed from the full-grain leather. What is interesting is that the leather improves overtime since it develops \’patina\’ which makes it more beautiful. This type of quality of goat skin leather wears better than others given the fact that it is kept in its natural state. Full-grain leathers are thus stronger and more durable than others. People also find that leather with natural grain breathes better which in turn makes the product more comfortable. Full-grain stingray leather is generally used in the finest furniture and foot wear.

2. Corrected-grain goat skin leather: This is the second type of the goat skin leather which is smooth on one side and fuzzy on the other side. That\’s because the hair as well as the grains are removed to make the leather smoother. The corrected-grain goat skin is generally made from inferior quality goat skin. The low quality goat hides are corrected to remove the natural grains and add artificial grains.

3. Suede: This comes from the fuzzy side of the skin which is found in the interior split of the hide. Suede represents the third basic type of leather that comes from the goat skin. Suede is usually more easily available and costs less than full-grain and corrected-grain leather. With a single thickness of hide, people can make several pieces of suede. This is not the case for full grain and corrected grain goat skin, which can only generate one piece for each goat skin.

Just like in the past, goat skins have kept their popularity.
