There are three essential elements for creating lasting relationships and the number one essential ingredient is communication, without this even an infant will starve for attention, direction, and a purpose for living.

I\’ve never followed the \”popular\” but there does seem to be some magic that makes a person this way. I recently saw a picture of one newly minted celebrity and became an instant fan and not because of his looks in fact I could pass him on the street and not do a double take, yet he\’s got that IT factor…just what is it, because I want some.

So how does one change a habit that they might not even know they were doing? The first step would be to recognize the behavior when doing it- when you love yourself enough to be believe you deserve better the more you understand who you are and who you want to become- hopefully someone less critical or anxious and less needy for validation from others.

Believe it or not using a journal is also a great way to help with communication skills for if after a social evening you jot down a few notes about how the evening went via your communication and any frustrations you ran into you might notice some subconscious feelings run to the surface. By journaling you can process your feelings and any reactions that will help you overcome communication failures.

When even the best laid out plans of communication fall apart it is ok, just re-adjust and start over, and by using your journal and looking through it periodically you can use it to strategize, and notice the most successful parts of your dialog and change the communication patterns you don\’t like, and don\’t forget when you do notice success to highlight it so it\’s fresh in your mind!

Now that we all want to be charismatic let me mention one little thing, to be truly charismatic draws attention to you, if you are a perfectionist, love school, crazy about your boss, then you may want to tame down the \”charm\” or as I say what they hell, who cares what other think, drop the charade and be your authentic self now!
