Social anxiety refers to a condition in which a person lives in fear of humiliation and being judged by other people. Such anxiousness is a consequence of unfavorable thinking, which causes a person to have negative perceptions about other people and social circumstances. People with social anxiety live with these fears everyday of their lives, which can seriously interfere with their daily functions such as work or school. This is because they\’re uneasy about doing normal things in public,eg eating or drinking.

Those with social anxiety are aware that their fears are misguided, but they are unable to control them. While most people only experience stress in specific situations, there are others whose anxiety extends to pretty much any social situation. Although social anxiety normally emerges during adolescence, it can happen at any time in ones life and is more common in ladies than men.

People suffering from social anxiety have a tendency to become emotionally distressed when faced with certain circumstances. If you become emotionally distressed when being introduced to new people, if you feel like you are consistently being judged by others, or if you get anxious performing tasks in front of others, you might be affected by social anxiety.
